Birthday Party Numero 7

Can you believe Briana is now 7!?!? She loves the movie, Camp Rock, as well as the Jonas Brothers, so we had to have a "Camp Rock" birthday party. It was great! The weather was perfect and she had a good time.

Halloween Fun

So Halloween was fun, but seemed like it lasted forever! A week before Halloween, we went "trunk-or-treating" at church, then had a Halloween party to attend the next night. That weekend was crazy in the fact that I had to make sure all costumes were put away for the next night and so on. Then Halloween finally arrived and I was so tired of it!

Not much fun.....

Isaac developed a nasty staph infection on his left buttocks last week. We went to the E.R. on Sunday and was there for 5 hours. The doctor had to lance the abcess and shoved a rather large Q-tip inside and Isaac was screaming in pain! I hated watching - it was horrible!

We left and thought that with the atibiotics prescribed, he would be okay. Well.....on Tuesday, we followed up with his regular peditrician and he decided to admit Isaac to the hospital, since he started having a hight fever and the site actually got bigger.
When he was finally admitted, a few hours passed and he went into surgery to have the rest of the area drained and a temporary drain put in. It was a quick procedure, which today, has helped! His little booty is still sore, but he's feeling a lot better! I hate staph infections - YUCK!!

First Day of First Grade!!

Briana and Kaitlyn are in the first grade!! They are NOT in the same class - we requested, but have aready managed to get into some trouble in their P.E. class. For the most, they have enjoyed the first week together.
They love having backpacks this year, since they didn't get to have them last year. Hooray for school!!

Cake - Yumm-O!

I made this cake for a baby shower. It was chocolate with chocolate icing and the baby was made out of fondant icing. This was one of my favorite cakes to make! I am not a huge fan of fondant icing, due to the flavor, but I do like working with it. It makes cakes stand out. It took about 3 hours total to make the baby.

It was a HUGE hit at the baby shower. Everyone loved it and the guest of honor saved the face - I think to eat it when the baby arrives. :o)

You know......it reminds me of Charlie Brown!

I made this pink cross cake for Alonzo's cousin. Her daughter was getting baptized and wanted a cross cake. The cake was marble flavor and pink buttercream icing with a fondant bow.

The bow took a while to make, but was a beautiful finishing touch. Everyone loved the cake!

I made these chocolate covered apples and strawberries for Alonzo cousin that got married last month. I even made these in a hotel the day of the wedding! It was very easy to make and once again, everyone loved them!
